Dr.Rahman’s Trust is established in 2006 by Dr.Abdul Rahman, M.B.B.S., F.R.C.S., F.R.A.C.S., who is surgeon in Australia. It is run for the up liftment of economically backward families of Muslim Community. It helps their Children to acquire higher education and also venders various welfare measures, so that their standard of life will improve. Dr.Rahman’s Trust which was started 10 years ago is striving for the improvement of the educational status of the socially backward people.
Our Trust select top ranking students from state and national level examinations for law, engineering, technology,nursing, medicine and Marine studies whose family incomes are unable to support a higher education. The Scholarship Program provides financial and other assistance to students for their higher education in India. This College was started this year with the approval from National Council for Teaching Education and affiliation from Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. The approved intake is 100 students. In the year 2010-11, the actual intake is also 100 students.
This year 10 students from Muslim Community have been admitted in this college. Some of the Muslim students have got 100% fee concession, while others were awarded 50% of fee concession. Dr.Rahman’s Trust has borne the concession. This college of Education is housed in its own building constructed at a cost of Rs.1.5 crores with all modern facilities.
